The journey is an extraordinary one that never goes as expected
Cindy Angelikopoulos Worms (°1980) is a Belgian professional with Greek-Belgian roots who combines a background in Art History and Career Counseling with a curiosity for hidden genealogies. After studying at VUB and writing a theses on Visual Artist Jean-Pierre Temmerman she developed a multifaceted career in Brussels, managing a modern career counselling center in the PES of Brussels focusing on lifelong guidance, adaptability, and resource-oriented approaches. Today she works as a Counsellor in PES of Flanders where she empowers clients by identifying strengths, promoting self-reflection, and helping them navigate a changing world of work.
In 2024 she became spokesperson of the Family Secrets group at the Afstammingscentrum in Ghent, an organisation created by the Flemish government as a neutral and independent center for issues relating to parentage, kinship, genetic information, the roots of adopted children, etc. Her life experiences and work during the years inspired her artistic practice to shift from photography and travel journalism to participatory installations. Multilingual and comfortable across cultures, she builds bridges between institutions, communities and personal stories.
In her creative projects she uses conversations, photo-collages and food to explore identity and belonging. She lives in Tervuren in between Brussels and Leuven with her two children and travels to Greece in search of ancestral traces, sharing bread and stories. She brings spirit and generosity to each encounter.
